Have you had trouble getting into an Australian pub with an American license? - license verification for dialysis

Some friends and I'll be traveling, and we wonder if it make any problem, an American license for age verification. I do not know how the system of the AU, but here in the United States is frequently (and often necessary) to check the doors and go back on the purchase of drinks. I just want to know if the international license is fine if people were rejected, there were problems, etc.
